The furniture is upholstered in fine damask and heavy silk-taffeta curtains hang to the floor.The small but full chef's kitchen features top end European appliances from Gaggeneau, Miele and Bosch. Naturally you will also find an espresso machine with milk steamer and a microwave oven.A lovely brick patio off the kitchen has table seating for your enjoyment. Relax with your morning expresso and guidebook as you plan your day. The patio will be filled with potted flowers during the warmer months in Washington from spring to fall. Upstairs the front bedroom has a queen bed covered in luxurious linens, side tables with reading lamps, a dresser and closets. The hand painted walls feature a charming floral pattern. The all new bathroom is elegant, light, and pleasing with a large skylight and a glass shower, the high-end fixtures are by Waterworks. At the other end of the landing is the quaint den/guest room overlooking the back patio. It features a settee and ample storage in three roomy closets and an antique dresser. The settee is also a bed with a second trundle bed that can accommodate two additional smaller guests.Down narrow stairs you will find a clean dry laundry room with a new washer and dryer for your convenience. LOCATIONGeorgetown is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Washington, DC and because of its prime location on the Potomac River served as a major port and commercial center during colonial times. Among its lovely tree lined streets you will find the stately historic homes of the wealthy merchants who made their fortunes in this former tobacco port. Today, Georgetown is a vibrant community with lots of upscale shopping and restaurants along its cobblestone streets. DIVERSIONSThe location is marvelous, walk a mere three blocks to the wonderful cafes, coffee houses, restaurants and shops that line the main commercial street of Georgetown, M Street.
