It also has a single put-u-up bed so that four people can be offered sleeping accommodation if necessary.Upstairs there is one double bedroom with a double bed & one single bed in a single bedroom, a bathroom with a bath and shower option and a utility room with ironing board and iron. As mentioned there is an extra single bed in the form of a put-u-up in the sitting room.The kitchen has a washing machine and there is a retractable washing line in the garden.All towels and bed linen are provided so all you have to do is unpack.Storage for bikes can be arranged.The cottage is 2 minutes from a large park with a caf, permanent outside gym equipment, woodland trails , river walks and children's adventure playground. It surrounds a historic civil war earthwork. The original site is preserved and accessible to all.Across from the park is the River Trent with a marina and pubs where food is available. The road along the Trent takes you into the centre of Newark in ten minutes. Here you can find a great variety of individual shops, restaurants and a historic market square with a continental open market 5 days a week and a specialist market day for antiques and bric-a-brac. We also have a good range of supermarkets in town including Waitrose and a 24 hour Asda.In Albert Street, about 5mins walk away, is a Co-op which sells fresh meat & veg as well as tinned and frozen foods and drinks. It is open 'till 10pm. In the same area there is a cash point and a petrol station. In both Albert Street & Victoria Street, which runs parallel to it, there are fish and chip shops and take-away outlets.Just outside Newark is the famous Eden Hall Day Spa and after a lovely spa day what better than a meal on the river at the Farndon Boat HouseNewark which is a crossroads in terms of both road & rail links is an ideal stop off for explorers of Central England and history buffs.
