What is RentalSource?
RentalSource is an online service for rental properties located in the United States and Canada. It's an easy & cost effective way for property managers to advertise their rental properties online and for interested renters to contact them.

Where is RentalSource located?
RentalSource is located in Raleigh, NC and has no other locations or employees in other cities or states.

Does RentalSource collect any money from renters on behalf of property managers/owners?
No - RentalSource does not collect any money (commissions, deposits, fees, etc.) from renters on behalf of property managers/owners.

Does RentalSource charge interested renters for any services?
No - RentalSource does not charge potential renters for any services and we'll never ask anyone for their credit card information. However, it is possible that a property manager who is contacted through our website may charge a fee for their services. We frown upon this, but have no control on how other companies operate their businesses.

Does RentalSource manage any rental properties?
No - RentalSource does not manage any rental properties.

How does RentalSource work?
Property managers advertise their available rental properties on RentalSource and then RentalSource works to attract potential renters to view those listings. If a potential renter is interested in a property, they can contact the property manager via the contact form on their listing or by the information that's displayed. The manager then handles any ensuing transactions and the management of the rental property. RentalSource does not collect any money (commissions, deposits, fees, etc.) from renters at anytime.

Renters

How do I search for available rental properties?
One of the main features on RentalSource is a free, user-friendly search. Simply go to our homepage, enter your search location, and click the search icon. You'll then be presented with available rentals in your desired location. Simply as that!

How much does RentalSource charge to search for available rentals?
There is no charge to search RentalSource for available rentals anywhere in the United States and Canada.

My search came back with no results, did I do something wrong?
When there are no properties that match your search, you have option to create a new listing alert so you'll be notified when we receive a property that matches your needs.

Can RentalSource check the rate/availability of a rental?
RentalSource does not have any information besides what is shown on the property listing. We also do not track the availability of properties listed through our service. Potential renters will need to contact the property manager directly through their listing for this information.

Can RentalSource arrange a booking for me?
RentalSource does not handle any bookings or reservations. Potential renters will need to contact the property manager directly through their listing to do this.

Does RentalSource rent/manage any properties?
RentalSource only advertises available rental properties on behalf of property managers.

How do potential renters contact the property manager?
Located on each listing is the contact information that the property manager supplied when they created their listing. The best way to contact the manager is through the contact form that's displayed on every listing. Upon completing the form, an email will be sent to the manager with your inquiry. Most managers respond to email inquiries within 24-36 hours. If you don't receive a reply from the property manager, then most likely the property is no longer available and the manager hasn't removed the property from our service yet.

How do I find out the property managers email address?
RentalSource takes every measure to ensure the managers that use our service are not solicited with unwanted spam email. This is why we do not publicly display this information or share it privately. However, you may contact the manager via email using the contact form located on each listing.

Does RentalSource warrant or verify information shown for each rental?
All information shown on the listing is provided by the property manager and is deemed reliable but should be independently verified. RentalSource provides this service without representations or warranties of any kind either expressed or implied.

What can I do if I'm not a member of RentalSource?
As a guest of our service, you are able to access all of our listings through our search feature. You are free to investigate all of the listing information and request more information from the property managers.

Why should I become a member of RentalSource?
As a member, you can save your favorite listings, create new listing alerts and have the option to advertise available rental properties. Also, becoming a member is totally free.

How do I become a member?
Located at the top of each page is a "Sign Up" link. Simply click this and enter your information to create your free RentalSource account.

How do I sign into an existing RentalSource account?
To sign into your existing RentalSource account, simply click "Log In" located at the top of every page. You'll then be asked to submit your email address and RentalSource password to enter the "My Account" section of our website.

Do you use our personal information or email address for other purposes?
RentalSource will not sell or distribute your personal information or email address to any third party.

How do I change my email address, password, or user setting?
This information can be changed once you've logged into your RentalSource account.

How do I advertise available rental property on RentalSource?
Located at the top of each page is a link called "List Your Rental". By clicking this you can review our listing packages and start the process of adding your property to RentalSource.

What forms of payment does RentalSource accept?
RentalSource accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover for your payment convenience.

What is your refund policy?
If for any reason you're unsatisfied our service, let us know within 30 days of signing up and we'll be happy to refund your money.

Are there any additional fees or commissions charged on bookings?
RentalSource does not collect a commission or fee on bookings created through our service.

How long does it take to list my property on RentalSource?
The average listing takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete.

When will my listing be added after I complete the listing process?
Your listing will be immediately available on our website as soon as you complete the "List Your Rental" process.

Why do you ask so many questions when listing my property?
RentalSource goal is to fill your available rental. We want to give you every opportunity to completely explain your rental and most renters like to know every detail and amenity prior to contacting the property manager. This will also save you time from answering questions/inquiries that could be addressed on your listing. Hopefully the only inquiries you'll receive are to arrange showings or bookings!

Can I make changes to my listing after submission?
You have complete 24/7 access to edit your property for as long as it's listed with RentalSource. The changes you make are then immediately reflected in your listing.

What guidelines apply to adding a property listing?
RentalSource has a few listing guidelines to ensure the integrity of our service. These guidelines are strictly enforced and there are no exceptions.

  1. Your account must contain complete and accurate information.
  2. You may only advertise a single property in each listing. Any listings advertising multiple properties or companies will be immediately removed without a refund.
  3. You may not create duplicate listings for a single property.
  4. Your listing must reflect accurate information about the rental property.
  5. All photos must be of the rental property and not contain any people or animals. Any photos found that violate this will immediately be removed without notification.

Can I advertise multiple properties in a single listing?
Each listing on RentalSource must reflect a single property. Any listings that are found to violate this guideline will be immediately removed without a refund.

Do I get a reminder when my listing is getting ready to expire?
Yes, our system will send you a notification just prior to your listing's expiry date as well as when your listing has expired.

How do I update my credit card information?
Once you are signed into your account, you can update your credit card information via the "Payment" link.

Does RentalSource meet industry standards for secure online transactions?
All of your financial and personal information is encrypted in our database and protected by secure socket layer (SSL) technology.

Is there a direct website address for my listings?
Yes, there is a direct link to each property you have listed with RentalSource. Once you are on your property listing, the address that is shown in your browser is your listing's permanent website address. You are free to bookmark this and distribute it on any promotional material you may have.
