Built by ship builders from. Cypress and Dade County Pine, the home is of Classic Revival Form boasting of a fresh water well and close proximity to the harbor. The waterfront at that time reached almost to Margaret St. and James street. on that beach the new or repaired sails where often stretched and laid to dry. Shrimp boats and turtle crawls were plentiful. Under the loving care of it's present steward, The Sailmaker's House is a charming home today as it was then.
